Corruption in the Greenbelt: Rally at MPP Jill Dunlop’s Office

Following an explosive report from the Ontario’s Auditor General which exposed the Ford government’s blatant corruption — confirming that a few chosen developers received “preferential treatment” to hand-pick 92% of the land that Doug Ford’s government removed from the Greenbelt – on August 14th we rallied at MPP Jill Dunlop’s office in Orillia, which saw over 100 people in attendance.

We heard from speakers Vicki Monague, Aaron Cayden Hiltz, Elizabeth Van Houtte, Margaret Prophet, Jacob Kearey Moreland, and Madeleine Fournier. Thank you to John Winchester and Orillia For Democracy for organizing!

As Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition‘s Margaret Prophet said, it’s important to hold everybody who is responsible accountable: “It was actually an active cabinet, which means there were 30 MPPs across Ontario who signed off on this deal. One of them was Jill Dunlop … We can’t let Ford take all of the blame; this was our representative who actually said she wanted to make sure the Greenbelt would be protected.”

This fight is far from over. #HandsOffTheGreenbelt #DougFordResign
