The 2022 municipal election was held on October 24, 2022. Below are the election results (see the full results here)

7 out of 9 of the new council members elected were candidates who completed our Green Orillia questionnaire! Orillia expects responsive and engaged representation and we look forward to achieving the visions laid out.
Background
During the campaigning period, we crowdsourced a series of 32 questions with contributions from about a dozen different local groups and put them to all 30 registered candidates. The original candidate questionnaire can be viewed here.
All candidates were given one month to complete the questionnaire. Results were then shared publicly on our website and through our e-newsletter and the public had one month to review all candidate responses before making their decision for who to vote for on election day. 15/30 candidates completed the questionnaire. The responses provide the most detailed information regarding the candidate’s pre-election commitments, which can be used to enhance transparency and accountability. Green Orillia did not edit, grade, judge or offer commentary on any individual response, allowing the candidate’s responses or lack thereof to speak for themselves.
